Out in nature, the “Roseslottet” presents nearly 300 works of art: monumental paintings, installations and sculptures. “Roseslottet” puts the spotlight on the pillars of our free society: the rule of law, democracy and human rights. These fundamental values must be constantly defended and upheld by the individual and by society as a whole. “Roseslottet” wants to strengthen understanding of these treasures and how easily they can be lost if we don’t take care of them.
The “Roseslottet” project
“Roseslottet” is a temporary project at Frognerseteren in Oslo, which opened in June 2020 and will be completed in 2025. “Roseslottet” is run by Stiftelsen Roseslottet, a non-profit organisation and the artist brothers Eimund and Vebjørn Sand are artistically responsible for the project.
How to get there
Take the tram from the Nationaltheateret subway station (subway no. 1 towards Frognerseteren) or from Majorstuen subway station (subway no. 1 towards Frognerseteren). Roseslottet is located by Holmenkollen in Oslo, 50 meters from Frognerseteren subway station.
